Orders of Protection
An Order of Protection, often referred to as a "restraining order," is appropriate when a person with whom you have been in a relationship is causing you to fear for your safety. In Missouri, an Order of Protection lasts from six months to a year, and may be renewed if the fear persists at the end of the effective time period.
